London, UK - Australia’s rising heavyweight star and 2024 Paris Olympian, Teremoana Teremoana, has inked a long-term promotional deal with Matchroom Boxing in association with GoldStar and Tasman Fighters. The announcement signals Matchroom’s commitment to bolstering its heavyweight roster, with Teremoana poised to debut under their banner on December 14 at the prestigious Monte-Carlo Showdown V, live on DAZN.

By signing Teremoana Teremoana, Matchroom Boxing is setting the stage for it's heavyweight future.

The 26-year-old heavyweight, hailing from Campbelltown in New South Wales, has already made waves on the international stage. A gold medalist at the 2023 Pacific Games, Teremoana electrified audiences at the Paris 2024 Olympics by delivering a first-round knockout against Ukraine’s Dmytro Lovchynski in his opening bout. While his Olympic campaign ended in the quarter-finals at the hands of eventual champion Bakhodir Jalolov, the towering 6’6” southpaw demonstrated elite potential, sparking a heated race among promoters for his signature.

Proud of his dual heritage, Teremoana spoke about his roots and aspirations. "I'm born and raised in Australia, but I'm also very proud of my Cook Islands heritage," said Teremoana. "I come from a long line of warriors, and I'm very motivated to carry on the family name. I want the world to know it, and I won't stop until I've achieved that."

Already boasting a perfect professional record of 4-0, all by knockout, Teremoana is determined to make a mark on the global stage. "I’ve learned so much over the last few years and really enjoyed the Olympic experience, but now it's time for a new phase in my career. My dream is to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, and I believe with Matchroom, GoldStar, and Tasman Fighters behind me, I can achieve that. It’s going to be an exciting ride, so let’s go!"

Teremoana will step into the ring at the luxurious Salle Des Étoiles in Monte Carlo, a fitting venue for what he calls his “new professional debut.”Matchroom Sport Chairman Eddie Hearn expressed his excitement about securing Teremoana’s talent.

"I'm delighted to add another exciting heavyweight talent to our growing global stable," said Hearn. "Teremoana gave us all a glimpse of what he is capable of in the Paris 2024 Olympics, and his style and ability have improved drastically in recent years. "His Matchroom debut next month in Monte-Carlo is the perfect platform for him to reintroduce himself to the professional ranks. I’m confident he’ll be turning heads in the heavyweight division and putting many on notice."

Under the guidance of trainer Brian Peters, Teremoana aims to build a fan base both in Australia and around the globe. He emphasized his focus on hard work and global appeal as the pillars of his burgeoning career. "I want to be on the world stage, and I know that if I put in the work, I have the ability to do that. The plan is to continue to build a fan base at home in Australia but also all around the world," Teremoana stated.

With heavyweight boxing poised for a transformative 2025, Teremoana’s signing couldn’t come at a better time for Matchroom Boxing. The heavyweight division is seeing a resurgence of fresh talent, and Teremoana’s power, size, and southpaw stance make him a compelling addition to the mix.
