Undefeated Russian heavyweight Evgeny Romanov (18-0, 12 KO) is set to continue his professional journey with another bout scheduled for September 8th in Chelyabinsk. His opponent will be 41-year-old Venezuelan boxer Wilmer Vasquez (12-1-2, 8 KO). This information was shared by the press service of his promotional company RCC Boxing.
Evgeny Romanov, who has never been defeated, fought his most recent match in March of this year, securing a victory by unanimous decision against South African Chris Thompson (12-5-1, 7 KO).
As for Wilmer Vasquez, he also hasn't been in action for a while. His last fight also took place in March in his home country of Venezuela, where he defeated young prospect Davis Bruno (0-1), who made an unsuccessful professional debut.
Vasquez should be no match for Romanov who has been fighting in virtual obscurity since his knockout of Canadian Dillion Carman in early 2019, when it looked like he was about to launch an assault on the world top 20.
