Sariosiyo, Uzbekistan (October 10, 2023) - Uzbek Top Heavyweight Bakhodir Jalolov (13-0, 13 KOs), the gold medalist at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, is set to make his return to professional boxing November 17th.
"The Big Uzbek" will headline a card scheduled at the Humo Arena in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. His opponent will be South African Chris Thompson (12-5-1), a relatively easy opponent with three losses in his last three outings.
In 2023, Jalolov has only had one professional bout, which took place in August in Tulsa. It marked his debut under the promotional banner of Top Rank, where he secured a victory against Nigerian boxer Onoriode Ehwarieme in the first round.
While representing his national team, Jalolov excelled at the Strandja Memorial in Bulgaria, a renowned event in the amateur circuit. He also clinched the gold medal at the World Championships in Tashkent, successfully defending the title he had won in Ekaterinburg in 2019, in addition to his recent triumph at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, which concluded last week.
