Arslan Yalıyev, aged 26, won the vacant title of Russian heavyweight champion on March 7th in Yekaterinburg, after knocking out Georgiy Yunovidov, aged 30, in the fourth round.

Both boxers had unbeaten records, and the fight started with high intensity and serious exchanges. In the beginning of the fourth round, Yalıyev managed to knock down Yunovidov and followed up with a series of power punches, resulting in Yunovidov being knocked out.

Before the bout in Yekaterinburg, Yalıyev expressed interest in facing fight former world cruiserweight champion, Murat Gassiev.
